Any gold currently on your account will remain on your account.
And after the reset, everyone will be starting over, so anyone currently in vacation mode, will no longer be in vacation mode.
what about the gold I invested in the world by using premium, all of which I'm just going to loose like that *snap*.
Losing a city or quiting the game is one thing, but having the world restart is another. a full gold refund (and only gold, i'm not talking refunding real money) would be a normal thing to do IMO, and of course, only for the BETA world (no transfering that gold to official worlds)
I'm sure there's a log somewhere where you can see when and how much gold a player has used up.
Paying to play is a good thing because it:
1) helps to support the game;
2) allows faster expansion;
3) is not expensive compared to, say, going out to a movie;
4) is modular - you can pay for the features you want and not for those you don't;
5) is not so much of an advantage that it makes it impossible to compete without.

3) not so true in the long run (and if you only go out to a movie once in a while), and depending how much gold you consumate...(e.g. using it a lot for buildings, which IMO is stupid, since a city itself is something you can lose, and thus losing money)

what i dont understand is people complaining about the server being reseted. Also why pay money for a server that is going to reset? I welcome the reset.

and that's just a stupid thing to say. I've been playing for months, and I currently have 16 cities. You'd be a little pissed too if you lost that, don't deny that.
