Troops for diffent things.

Might be a bit of a nooby question but i thought id throw it out here and get some peoples opinions :)
What are best troops for offence and defence?
What troops are best for farming?

Farming > Archers, and Horseman.

Offence, Defense, well first we need to talk about defense.

Best way to have defense is to use units that have a good minimal defense.
For exemple : Swordsman : 14/8/30 the minimal defense is 8/1 people.
Horseman : 18/0/24 for 3 people => 0/3

This way, choosing people that have the best "minimal defense" for the least people, you can raise your "defense".

What about the attacker ? Well for this it's simple, look at the army of the defender, and then choose to attack the weak point. For exemple, it the defender have lot of Horseman, choose chariots or hoplite.

Thats what I did ^^ I thought they wouldn't survive but was worth a try It worked :p
