Super Expensive Mines

Inno care to comment on the amount of resources earned per hour from the mines? They seem to be very low to me. Especially given how expensive the troops are.

Furthermore, the mine upgrades seem to be very expensive for a minimal increase in production. Each additional mine level doesn't always give you a larger increase than the previous one. For example upgrading from level 19 - level 20 mines only increases base production by 5 per hour. Upgrading from level 17-level 18 or from 18-19 gives you an additional 9 resources per hour.

I agree, the resource output is ridiculously low. I've been farmining constantly to make up for it, every 10-20 minutes I send my troops out.

For timber camp level 19 to level 20 gives an increase of 9, same as those other levels, why is the mine different?

As for the mines being too expensive or not giving enough resources, I like it the way it is. I don't want the game to be too fast.

Currently a level 18 timber camp costs a total of 2141 resources, at an increased production of 9 per hour (without premium), that takes less than 10 days to pay itself off. I think that is perfectly acceptable. Lower levels of resource buildings pay themselves off much more quickly.

Edit: I think I worked out the difference. Are you on an island with -silver by any chance RonPaul?

My island is +stone -silver, and all the different resources increase equally with each level of building until level 20, where mine gets only +5, timber camp +9 and quarry +12. At level 21 they get +7, +9, +12.
My guess is that the island +/- resource effects only kick in at level 20 and above.

My island is - wood + stone.

So let's look at stone levels. Between levels 8 and 17 the increased stone produced per hour goes +7, +8, +7, +8, +8, +9, +9, + 8. Shouldn't the increases get a little larger between levels? Especially given that the mines are getting more expensive.

My curiosity is not in how long it takes to be paid back for a mine... it takes almost a year in Tribal Wars to pay back the cost of upgrading from lvl 29 - lvl 30 for example.

My question is more geared towards why the increases in resource production between levels aren't always increasing, and in fact sometimes decrease.

I, too, find this strange: the costs go up log-ish for upgrading resources, but the benefits only go up geometrically.

I can't think of another similar game where it works that way.

Well, Innogames, why is it this way?

That's why you have a instant ability to farm, doing tutorial gives already enough troops to start farming. While comparing with other games resource production might be higher but you need first to build barracks, research and build troops before you can go farm.

A game shouldn't be to easy to start at all, would be boring if we would all have 5 towns after 1 week... and it would be way more unbalanced as the gap/difference between active hardcore players and weekendplayers would occur way faster than it would do now.
